2022 Garden Plans

March 26, 2022

Spring is here and my seedlings are starting to emerge. We have some frosty nights ahead this weekend. So I keep them inside and “tote” them out to the patio on sunny warm days.

I’m anticipating some interesting plants this season: Purple Kohlrabi, Husk Cherry, Tithonia, Alyssum, Nicotiana in colors, crimson, purple, bronze, pink, and white.  Violet Cleome, Cerise Polygonum, Blue Salvia harmonium, Orange Wonder snapdragon, and  others. Tomato in black, purple, Sunset orange, and German lunchbox. Also in the tote are some cuttings of snapdragon black prince taken from my 2019 plant that is still living.

I have some English peas, radishes, blue boy cornflowers, and German camomile, already up and growing in large patio pots. I’m planning to direct sow the pink Japanese Okra, more English peas, Karoda carrots, purple blauhilde German pole beans, Gem lettuce, Komatsuna leaf,  and three varieties of small melons: Madhu Ras, Kiku, and Minnesota Midget.

Gardening is an adventure. I’m hoping for the best! 🙏🏼
