Walking in the forest is frequently an adventure. Yesterday I discovered this specimen growing at the base of a huge old Sugar Maple tree (Acer saccharum). It’s always a thrill is come upon some amazing mushrooms. (note: that’s a liter water bottle next to the larger mushroom for scale)
