I walked onto a different trail in the hardwood forest. Enjoying the beautiful Autumn colors of the maple, oak, poplar, persimmon, dogwood, sumac, and all the other Beauties.
I came upon an awesome discovery. Laetiporus sulphureus – Chicken-of-the-Woods mushroom. It was growing on a 12 foot tall oak stump. Here are a few photos of the orange and yellow fungus.
I understand it is edible under some circumstances and for some people. I am not experienced to make any recommendations. However, I’ve seem a number of YouTube posts that show people preparing it.
For me, it was just stunning Beautiful. I’ll leave it at that.
